Grid demo annual report chronicles 2013 accomplishments
2013 was another year of progress and learning for the Pacific Northwest Smart Grid Demonstration Project (PNW-SGDP):
- The University of Washington viewed campus electricity consumption at the individual building level for the first time.
- The Bonneville Power Administration continued to develop a regional, risk-informed evaluation of smart grid costs and benefits.
- Flathead Electric Cooperative maintained a 95 percent participation rate among customer volunteers participating in the cooperative's residential demand response activities.
These were just a few of the demo project's accomplishments reported in the 2013 PNW-SGDP Annual Report, issued in spring 2014 and now available online. The report offers a demo overview by Project Director Ron Melton, provides progress updates for 13 project partners, and outlines some of the valuable "lessons learned" of the past several years.
